This project explores nudity not as provocation, but as matter. “Nothing exists beyond what is seen.” becomes the most censored version of ourselves because of instagram censorship but the aim is to show how afraid we are to show ourselves. Our body stops looking human, presence becomes shape online.
The fear we carry of showing ourselves and of being seen by others, of not hiding our body but showing it as it is. The context we put skin into creates a separation within other people, while it should bring everyone into oneness instead.
Ella evolves within her body seen both as matter and energy. She embodies this evolution and this movement. The project brings us to see each body parts as texture. Our body is always expanding through our skin.
Each nude project is a possibility to came out of our own body. It can become a whole progression of seeing how far mind and body would stretch, through looking at another person’s body. How far and deeply we could recognise ourselves.
Capturing bodies feels like drawing a line to me, a line that goes around our body, and stretches from our body to other people’s one. Capturing bodies feels like drawing the essence of ourselves.
