Murmur of Bodies is a short film I created in relation to my grandfather.
It is based on touch, fragility, and memory, shaped by research into aging and the evolving language of movement. The narrative is based on a personal memory, my grandfather’s unconscious hand gestures in the final stages of his life. A lifelong carpenter, his hands continued to move as if working wood. He is aging in his skin while getting younger in his movement.
Murmur of bodies is creating a sort of innocent, fragile, and pure recreation of skin. It invites a softening of perception and a return to a childlike tenderness and state of the body. Living life’s cycle.
